This past weekend in Santo Estêvão marked the conclusion of our team’s participation in the Under-18 National Clubs Championship, and we are proud to announce that Palheiro Golf achieved 5th place nationwide, among 10 competing clubs.
Despite challenging weather conditions, our young team displayed resilience, unity, and a remarkable competitive spirit. It was a demanding tournament, but our athletes rose to the occasion and made the club proud.
With a total score of 747 strokes (+90), the team was composed of:
- André Gonçalves (U16): 238 strokes (+19) – 83 | 77 | 78
- José Pedro Miranda (U14): 252 strokes (+33) – 87 | 83 | 82
- Maria Cunha (U14): 262 strokes (+43) – 84 | 87 | 91
- Salvador Rodrigues (U14): 265 strokes (+46) – 92 | 87 | 86
A special mention goes to André Gonçalves, who delivered a strong performance at +19, showing exceptional maturity beyond his years.
Congratulations to all our athletes for their outstanding determination and for competing against more experienced opponents with such dedication and team spirit.
And the excitement continues: on 25 April, these same players will take part in the National Youth Championship, this time joined by Rodrigo Abreu (U18), at Aroeira.
