On 21 December, Palheiro Golf hosted the 2nd edition of the CORAL Nations Cup, a vibrant celebration of diversity and sportsmanship. With 16 teams representing various nationalities, this event provided exciting competition and moments of true camaraderie.

The day, blessed by St Peter with perfect conditions, stood out not only for the quality of play, but also for the cosy atmosphere and the opportunity to strengthen bonds between golf lovers from all over the world. Every hole was played with passion and determination, highlighting the fair play that characterises this event.

The Polish team stood out for its strategy and consistency, winning first place with captain Mik Jarmolowicz and players Leontina Aguiar, Henrique Aguiar and Hélder Câmara. The Portugal/Madeira team, made up of captain Rui Alberto Sousa and players Gilda Sousa, Leonel Freitas and Carlos Alberto Fernandes, secured second place, while the Netherlands team, represented by captain Jan Kobus and players Daniel Just, Kirill Voskresenskii and Christian Jaeger, took third place on the podium.

After the close competition, the participants gathered for a themed lunch inspired by German cuisine, in honour of the winning team from the previous edition. This convivial moment strengthened the bonds between the players, promoting the sharing of experiences and the celebration of the sporting spirit.

The awards ceremony crowned the event, highlighting the exemplary performance of the winning teams and emphasising the friendship and mutual respect between the participants. We would like to express our gratitude to CORAL, the main sponsor of the event, and to Reid’s Palace, which offered the winning team a voucher for lunch at the Pool Restaurant. The support of these partners was fundamental to the success of this edition.

The CORAL Nations Cup is much more than a golf competition; it’s an international gathering that celebrates cultures, sport and friendship. Thanks to the dedication of the players and the support of our partners, this event continues to grow, establishing itself as a landmark in the Palheiro Golf calendar.

Mark your calendar now: the next edition will take place on 1 November 2025 at Palheiro Golf, with a Polish-themed lunch.

Until then, we’ll continue to celebrate golf and the unity it inspires.
