The 2024-2025 sporting season of the Palheiro Golf Academy concluded in style with the Junior Major, the final tournament of the year, which brought together all our young athletes in a competitive and festive atmosphere.

During the closing ceremony, we recognised the ranking winners in the two competitive formats – Strokeplay and Stableford Net – across the three academy levels: Competition, Pre-Competition, and Beginners.

Our youngest golfers also enjoyed their moment in the spotlight, taking part in the Chip & Putt challenge, where they received symbolic and motivational prizes for their effort and enthusiasm.

🎖️ Merit Awards – Season 2024-2025

Beyond sporting results, we also celebrated dedication and growth through our Merit Awards:

  • Revelation of the Year: Cassiel Khayali, for his 10-point handicap reduction.
  • Best Athlete: André Gonçalves, recognised for the second year running for his consistency and excellence.
  • Attendance: José Pedro Miranda, for the second consecutive year as the most present athlete.
  • Sportsmanship / Fair Play: Íris Costa’s Family, for their continuous support and positive team spirit.

🎓 Individual Certificates

All athletes also received their end-of-season certificates, reflecting their progress across technical, tactical, physical, and behavioural evaluations.

🎁 Special Draws

To close the ceremony, several prizes were raffled, ensuring every player took home a gift. A highlight was the donation of a set of golf clubs by the Khayali Family, offered to encourage the young golfers now beginning their journey in the sport.

📅 Training Calendar

Academy lessons continued throughout July, closed during August, and will resume on 6 September 2025, marking the beginning of the new sporting season.
